College Placement

In addition to our annual college fair, which hosts many schools from around Texas and the nation, one of the greatest student services offered at ASA is its college placement service. A team of administrators not only supports students and their parents as they start active college planning, but also literally walks families through the college application process, step by step. Juniors, seniors and their families are invited to attend a free, on-campus seminar to help them begin their college search and application process. Seniors regularly receive one-on-one counseling with regard to the college selection and application. ASA’s intimate campus makes it easy for teachers to get to know their students and be able to write keen, personalized college recommendations.

National Honor Society

ASA’s National Honor Society organizations conduct service projects, like recycling, that help our school and community.

Spanish National Honor Society

The purpose of the Society is to recognize high achievement in Spanish by the students of Alexander Smith Academy, honor the fulfillment of civic duties corresponding directly to the Hispanic community in Houston, Texas, and promote a continued interest in Hispanic studies. In order to be recognized by the Society, students must volunteer in the Hispanic community a total of 20 hours per calendar year.

Student Council

The Student Council represents the student voice on campus and also plans and organizes fun events and holiday celebrations throughout the school year.

Volunteer Service Club

The Volunteer Service Club invests its time and talents into helping the community. An annual food drive for local food pantries, toy drive for area hospitals and children’s centers, and a pet drive to help local pet shelters are among the activities organized by this very humanitarian group.
