ASA Staff

ASA staff and faculty work together to help students develop intellectual maturity. Several teachers have more than 25 years of experience and some are recent graduates with new, innovative and exciting teaching techniques.

Margaret Waldner De La Garza - Principal

Margaret Waldner

Bachelor of Arts, University of Houston; Master of Liberal Arts, University of St. Thomas; total of 30 years teaching experience, 15 years with ASA.

Maggie De La Garza was appointed Principal in the Spring of 1998. She is a 1976 graduate of the University of Houston where she received a BA in Education, Literature and Communications. She received her MLA in Literature, Philosophy and Communications from the University of St. Thomas. Prior to coming to ASA, Ms. De La Garza held teaching and grade level chairmanships with the Spring Branch Independent School District.

Pam Rameau - Dean of Students

Bachelor of Science in Curriculum and Instruction, Texas A&M University, Cum Laude; Master of Education in Leadership and Technology with principalship certification, Lamar University; total of 24 years teaching experience, 15 years with ASA.

 Prior to joining ASA, Ms. Rameau taught in both Katy and Spring Branch Independent School Districts and for Houston Community College.

Diana Wandix-White - Dean of Distance Learning

Diana Wandix-White - English

Bachelor of Arts Communications Studies, English Minor, Washburn University, Master of Education with Reading concentration, Prairie View A&M University, total of 17 years teaching experience, 14 years at ASA.

Diana Wandix-White was appointed Dean of Distance Learning in the Summer of 2011.  She has earned 12 credit hours towards a Master in Instructional Technology in Education, Kaplan University.  Prior to joining ASA, Mrs. Wandix-White taught at a private high school in the Cy-Fair school district.
